Custom controls solutions are available to all, and specifiers may be surprised how many options are available to them. Customers often ask OTTO Controls to develop custom solutions for them. It could be as simple as laser etching a logo onto a pushbutton.

Or a custom project could entail an entire grip and joystick redesign.

Custom Grip Options
The modular design of OTTO’s Universal Grip series opens the door to a high level of customization, while reducing the need for tooling charges that can be very costly elsewhere.

Each OTTO G3-A, G3-B, G3-C and G3-M Universal Grip offers a set of faceplates with a variety of switch configurations. That’s just for starters: Any faceplate can accommodate other switch content. Mix and match between thousands of OTTO pushbuttons, toggles, finger joysticks, rockers, thumbwheels and more to create your own faceplate.

Some grips have switches beyond the faceplate. The G3-C grip, for instance, offers pushbuttons on the side of the grip head, and the back of the handle may have pushbuttons, a thumbwheel or a trigger switch. These switches may all be replaced with other choices.

Make Joysticks Work for You

Gating, force and outputs are some of the attributes that can be altered on OTTO joysticks to meet customer specifications. Need special mounting or termination? Looking for a special joystick base and grip combination? Just ask.

Design your Switches, Too

Even switches are customizable for style or functionality. Custom options range from ordering unique legends and colors on rockers or pushbuttons to more extensive redesigns. OTTO has developed different versions of its switches, such as toggles with a new handle type or an integrated wire termination system for ease of installation and maintenance.
